Aug. 11th, 2012 01:57 pmOkay, so, it keeps coming up, so I figured I'd make a post explaining Jono's powers and whathaveyou. Jono possesses an ability known in Marvel canon as "Psionic Biokinesis". This basically means that his body is a container for immense psychic energy, which happens to take the form of a flame in the center of his chest. When he puts his full effort behind it, Jono is capable of incinerating matter at the atomic level.
Additionally, due to the way Jono's powers manifested, his lower jaw and all of his internal organs were completely obliterated, rendering him incapable of vocal speech, and making it so he doesn't have to eat, drink, or breathe to survive. In place of his physical voice, Jono was granted telepathy, which I signify in text with italics, like so. If Jono is writing something in a journal, or going through a period where his face and physical body have been restored, he'll use regular, non-italicized text like everyone else.
Essentially, Jono will speak directly to a character's mind. It's somewhat invasive, but Jono isn't gifted enough with his telepathy to read someone's thoughts, beyond telepathy that's directed at him. There's no "sound" to it, but Jono's British accent is evident. If Jono combines his telepathy with his biokinesis, he's capable of generating "psi-bolts" that are capable of inflicting painful headaches at whomever they're directed at.
